What You’ll Learn
This program introduces students to the core principles and technical skills of the machining trade. Key areas of training include:
- Set-up and operation of conventional machines, including grinders, mills, lathes, drill presses, and saws
- Basic CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operation for modern shop environments
- Precision measurement using industry-standard tools like micrometers and calipers
- Blueprint reading and shop math for interpreting and executing complex manufacturing instructions
- Workplace safety, quality control, and inspection procedures
- Shop theory that connects practical techniques with technical knowledge.
